Our attorneys perform extensive pro bono and public service work. A recent pro bono focus has been assisting needy clients who suffered damage in Superstorm Sandy.

Working through a legal assistance clinic, we litigated on behalf of clients who had sustained serious damage to their ground floor condominium. Repair funds were provided by insurance but the condo association applied those funds elsewhere.  Despite extensive negotiations with the association’s counsel no progress was made and they refused mediation, so we filed suit.  Trial counsel for the defense was sophisticated enough to understand his client’s exposure.  The officers of the condo association remained recalcitrant even after funding was found to cover the repairs. Eventually we agreed to a “dismissal without prejudice” meaning we can re-start the case if the repairs are not done.
